Heu! De Avi Morte

My grandfather (maternal) passed away this morning far off to the East at the age of 91. He was the last surviving grandparent of mine. There is not too much to be said about it that hasn't already been said, and well, by Crimson Rambler and Chorus here, here, and here.

So, much sadness around here today. Ave atque vale, Grandad.

I think the term "Heu!" is Awfully Well Chosen, here... I might go so far as to say "Eheu!"

Oh my gosh, Chunklets. I have only just pieced together the story of your family. My heart goes out to you all, especially to Crimson Rambler.

(Tell her from me that I think her dad was a hunk. I also was born in 1945, and those photos bring back so much.)

Thanks for the kind thoughts, skdadl! I've seen many photos of my grandfather as a young man, and he was indeed a handsome fellow (also in his later years as well)!

And CR, I agree that "Eheu!" would have worked as well! Also possibly "Vae"...
